Mary Jean Manley, 47, of Monroe, passed away Friday afternoon, November 19, 2010, at Newton Health Care in Newton. Funeral Memorial Services are planed at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at the Monroe United Methodist Church, with a visitation and fellowship time to follow. Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. In LIEU of flowers: Memorials in Mary's name are being designated.
Mary Jean, the daughter of Donald Ernest and Colleen Marie (Harbour) Manley, was born August 14, 1963, in Newton. She had attended the Newton Senior High School.
In 1987, Mary was united in marriage with Bradley Johnson. She would own and operate Mary's Day Care, retiring in 2007, due to her health. She devoted her life to her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Michael Manley in 1965; a sister Nancy Mackerman in 2005; and her grandparents: George and Jennie Manley and Ival and Lillian Harbour.
Those left to honor Mary's memory include her son Joshua Ernest Johnson (Lindsey Howe) of Monroe; daughter Jami Taylor Manley of Monroe; her former husband Brad Johnson of Monroe; a brother Ron (Renee) Manley of Newton; sisters: Kathy (Lyle) Thurman of Gilbert, AZ, Jayne (Mancil Laidig) McKeever of Newton, Susan (Randy Cooley) Manley of Marshalltown and Rebecca (Tony) Farver of Newton; brother-in-law Richard Mackerman; many nieces and nephews: Chad and Angie Mackerman, Aden Mackerman, Ian Mackerman, Kristin Mackerman, Keegan Noftsger, Braelon Decker, Greg Thurman, Cody Thurman, Harley Thurman, Chelsie Thurman, Lacey Thurman, Melissa and Mike Kendrick, Gabe Kendrick, Jenifer McKeever, Rhiannon Ryther, Maddy Ryther, Kara Manley, Chase Northey, Jillian Kelso, Brandy and Roberto Sanchez, Megan Farver and Brian Phillips, Chloe Phillips, Joe Farver, Lynnelle and Craig Bontty, Alek Bracy, Gavin Bontty, Adelyn Bontty, Oscar Bontty, and Brad Gregory; and her many friends.
